Securing the title of Infotel Hotel of the Month for July is the superb Mercure York Fairfield Hotel. We love this 18th Century Georgian hotel for a host of reasons but especially for its delicious dining, afternoon teas and tranquil gardens with views to the River Ouse. Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel is a very popular hotel for business bookers and leisure visitors and because of the grounds and Georgian architecture, it’s much in demand with brides and grooms wanting a Yorkshire setting for their wedding day.

Dining at Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

Guests have three menus to choose from. The Brasserie Menu offers dinners fabulous British classics such as prawn cocktail, beer battered haddock and burgers and steaks from the grill. The Chef’s Menu is a three course set dinner for just £22 and will satisfy meat and fish lovers as well as vegetarians. Desserts are particularly delicious, especially the glazed lemon tart with raspberry sauce!

The Lounge Menu offers deli and classic sandwiches, pizzas, meats from the grill and a selection of desserts. The black bean and sweet potato chilli or beef and Doombar ale pie are our favourites and you can take your time and relax in the lounge, maybe enjoy a game of chess or a long read!
