February really spoiled us with record-breaking high temperatures. Those blue sky, warm sunny days have encouraged the snowdrops to herald spring, daffodils to stand tall and crocuses to bow to the sun. And they’ve got us excited about spring getaways too! After the gloom of winter, these next few months are a fabulous time to take a UK break. Easter is around the corner and there are two Bank Holidays in May following shortly after, so a long weekend away is most definitely at the top of many peoples’ most wanted lists this spring!

All together there is 22 miles of coastline, award-winning beaches, rocky coves and scenic countryside. Plus the weather is normally a few degrees warmer on the English Riviera too!

The English Riviera has been attracting visitors and holiday makers for hundreds of years. Nowadays, it’s also just as well-known for its catch of the day and is referred to as The Seafood Coast. The fish market in Brixham is a worthy visit. Plus the town has a working organic farm that provides many of the restaurants with seasonal produce. Visitors can enjoy award-winning fish and chips and crab sandwiches! Alternatively, make a reservation for the Michelin starred restaurant The Elephant. Here guests can indulge in chef proprietor Simon Hustone’s seasonal menu served in a relaxed and informal setting.

Being on the English Riviera means there are lots of water sports and activities too. Sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water ski-ing and scuba diving are just a few examples. For literary and who-dunnit buffs, Torquay is a mecca as it’s the birthplace of Agatha Christie!
