With the Government imposing new lockdown restrictions across England from this Thursday 5 November, it’s good to know we are still here to help with your hotel bookings. The new rules will see bars, restaurants and other indoor and outdoor leisure facilities close until 2 December but as yet, there has been no announcement to say that hotels must close.
We are in touch with our partners at international and national hotel chains as well as independent accommodation providers and they are all busy making plans for the next month. Some hotels will be closing as its not cost-effective to remain open. Others will be open to all workers while some hotels will be opening their doors for key workers and essential workers only.
Add to this the different tiers of lockdowns operating in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and knowing if, when and where you can stay turns a hotel booking into a tricky and confusing process.
Will you need proof of being an essential worker as in the last lockdown? How will your team be able to get breakfast or an evening meal? And what Covid-19 policies are in place at the hotel to bring a safe stay? These are just a few of the questions running through your mind right now.

Covid-19 Policies in Hotels during lockdown
Finding out what Covid-19 policies and procedures hotels have in place has been part of our hotel booking service since the first lockdown back in March. Many of hotels across the UK have now signed up to the Visit Britain Covid-19 ‘Good To Go’ scheme. This official accreditation means hotels and accommodation providers are working to an industry standard to bring a safe and secure stay for hotel guests. Thousands of hotels have also gained local authority certification to state the hotel is operating correctly during these challenging Covid-19 times.
